Sidefx houdini rbd motion problem8/22/2023 ![]() ![]() In combination with the node above, you can also use the Voronoi Fracture Points SOP to generate points for it to use. ![]() You can create these points with scatter SOPS, or points from volume SOPS. The first is for the mesh you would like to fracture, and the second input is for the points it needs to fracture the mesh. As well as your RBD simulation as a whole. There are also other tools that go along with the Voronoi fracture SOP to improve its use. ![]() The node is also on it’s 2.0 version(As of 2021) so there have been several improvements to it. As well as generating fractures in concrete. The Voronoi Fracture SOP is great for small scale RBD sims. It is an ideal node when working with multiple constraints, glues, and meshes. The RBD Material Fracture SOP allows for you to create wood, concrete and glass fractures. These fracturing methods can be found in the RBD Material Fracture SOP, and in the Voronoi Fracture SOP. This allows you to generate accurate fractures for different types of objects. RBD also has several different material fracturing options. While passive objects can collide with active objects, they don’t move. Active objects can interact with collisions and forces. It handles objects as if they were hard objects, such as buildings, bricks, or other structures. This system allows for the motion, fracturing, and collision of objects to be handled within solvers. RBD, more commonly known as Rigid Body Dynamics, is a system inside Houdini. ![]()

Interchangeable drunk bus driver afraid8/22/2023 ![]() He knows how to talk and connect with people in a way Michael has yet to learn, and likely won’t, if he continues to stay in the bus’ driver’s seat. Despite his intimidating look, Pineapple befriends almost everyone who crosses paths with him, even some of the guys who start a fight on the bus. Then comes Pineapple, and this odd couple plays into a bit of those Laurel and Hardy-like contrasts for laughs, but also for some true moments of sincerity. Tahan really digs into Michael’s inability to stand up for himself, seemingly lowering his voice and slouching in his driver’s seat when he would just like to disappear. Making matters worse is Amy’s back in their Ohio town from New York, looking to meet up with him once again.ĭespite its simple premise and opportunities for silly college antics, “Drunk Bus” ends up being a much more sober movie about trust and healing. But eventually, Michael learns his new friend is also going through issues of his own and it throws their friendship into question. Not only does Pineapple protect his skinny charge from the unruly drunk college kids on the bus, he befriends Michael, giving him life lessons and encouraging him to move on from his breakup. After one particularly bad night, Michael was beaten by a passenger, so his boss hired security in the form of Pineapple (Pineapple Tangaroa), an intimidatingly tall man with lots of Maori face tattoos and piercings. ![]() So, he’s stuck in the same job he had in college, a bus driving gig, most notable the so-called “drunk bus” shift shuttling kids from campus to the town’s bars. Written by Chris Molinaro, “Drunk Bus” concerns Michael ( Charlie Tahan), a young man with a broken heart who has not gotten over losing his long term relationship with Amy ( Sarah Mezzanotte) after they graduated college. ![]()

Stone propane fire pit8/22/2023 ![]() ![]() The remains of fire pits preserve information about past cultures. The youth organization Woodcraft Folk also does this. Many cultures, particularly nomadic ones, would cut the turf above the fire-pit in a turf cutting ceremony, replacing the turf afterwards to hide any evidence of the fire. As well as resisting the strong winds of that area, the design also reduced the risk of causing a prairie fire. This style of fire pit is said to get its name from the Dakota people, who used it while hunting bison herds on the Great Plains. ![]() The Dakota fire pit is a tactical fire used by the United States military as the flame produces a low light signature, reduced smoke, and is easier to ignite under strong wind conditions. Because the air passes freely around the fuel, near complete combustion is achieved, the result being a fire that burns strongly and brightly and with little or no seen smoke. The fire burns from the top downward, drawing a steady, laminar stream of fresh air from the air hole as it burns. Small twigs are packed into the fire hole and readily combustible material is set on top and lit. Two small holes are dug in the ground: one for the firewood and the other to provide a draft of air. The Dakota fire pit is an efficient, simple fire design that produces little to no smoke. Use of a fire pit in adverse conditions should be avoided, and basic fire safety precautions apply. A wood-burning fire pit should be located at least ten feet (three meters) away from structures for safety. This can be as simple as a hole dug in the ground, or as complex as a holed-out brick or rock pillar. ![]() Fire pits have recommended clearance to combustibles and require at least 5 feet (1.5 m) above the flame and 16 inch (40 cm) circumference from the exterior perimeter of the vessel.Įssentially, a fire pit needs only a hole that can safely contain a fire. Unregulated and uncertified fire pit burners are increasingly being scrutinized by regulatory authorities and being denied permits. Natural gas and propane burners in these sorts of pre-fabricated vessels are certified under ANSI (American), CSA (Canadian), and CE (European) standards. Wood-burning fire pits made of metal are also quite common but are under increasing scrutiny due to fire bans and air particulate emissions. They burn usually natural gas, propane (LP) or bio ethanol. These are commonly made of pre-cast concrete or metal or a combination of metal table and stone. Pre-made fire pits are the most common form of fire pits and can be purchased from a store. ![]()

You can install plug-ins and codecs to improve compatibility, but some videos might remain out of reach. ![]() Relying on the installed video player could cause you to need multiple players - one to play music, one to play DVDs, one to play videos, and one for streaming - because it can’t handle the files. These built-in video players/media players only support a limited range of formats, meaning that half of the time you can’t even open the files you need. Since most computers come installed with a video player, why would anyone hassle with downloading a third-party software? Simple. ![]()

Sealant and enough distance to get the plug to flare should probably do the job. So I will get the fender off, get a BFH and drift and seat a new freeze plug after I clean the opening again with a wire brush. I'm not yet ready to pull it and dig into all the bits and pieces that a proper rebuilder should have done because it does run really well.It still has an M38 vintage oil filter bracket on it and an pancake aircleaner CO tube (currently property of Mike Wright) and a ribbed CJ head on it but is GPW 51122 in my 4/24/3.Īside from this small issue, it runs great and I plan on driving it until something major requires it to be removed. This engine probably has 5,000 miles on it but was last rebuilt maybe 15 years ago. The rest of the plugs are tight, don't leak (that I can see) and give a good solid THUNK when tapped, I replaced this one awhile back and the one that was in there had failed at the edge also. I'm beginning to think that to get the amount of force/inertia behind a heavy hammer or maul that I will have to remove the fender. When a cracked engine get repaired by pinning, the plug hole is sometimes filled up and pinned that the plug hole is completely gone and invisible.Ī restoration would not allow this method as these plug holes are part of the originality.īut fitting a plug with better material is a good thing to do.īetter than over sizing the hole for a bigger plug. If one can plug these holes with a permanent never detoriating plug it is a good job. The "casting plugs" are not a necessity for the engine, but rather an annoying left over from the casting procedure. ![]() ![]() Doesn't cost much & I do it as a matter of course. Heartily agree that if the ones on the side are gone so will the one on the back.Īs many old blocks have half the lands which support the core plug broken away making it near impossible to fit the saucer type plug, if the engine is out I would recommend having your machinist bore all these holes right through & fit brass or stainless cup type plugs & they'll never need replacing again. Too small or the ball on a ball peen won't do the job.Īny doubt then drill the centre of another plug (about 1/4") put silicone over the plug already installed then knock home the second plug (with the centre drilled). Then with a sealant they fit a plug using a drift of about 3/4 the diameter of the plug with a swift hit to the centre. Anyone got any ideas on this?Īrtificer wrote:Many professionals remove the old saucer/dish type core plug & clean the groove as well as possible. Have any of you guys done this and found a short-cut or better way to try this? I have the jeep sitting on all four wheels and it seems the best angle of attack is still from above. I can probably borrow a 5lb maul tomorrow and try again, but maybe I need an assistant to hold the drift? Would a drift with a 1/4" flat end be a better tool to use to try to mushroom out the plug? All that happened was I loosened it up even more as now I can see a drop of coolant start to develop where there was only a stain before.Īnyone got a tip on how to get enough POWER behind that drift to mushroom the plug to fit tight without removing the motor from the jeep? I used some sealer on it and gave it what I thought was a good enough whack to seat it at the time and now it seems to need more of a dimple to seat it.Īir cleaner and starter out of the jeep, I just tried a 2"x 9/16" drift and a 40oz ball-peen on it to see if I could expand it some more to stop the leak. On the passenger side of the block, between the coil and distributor there are TWO freeze plugs.I replaced the lower one a few months ago with another of the disc type steel ones and now it's seeping. ![]()
